What Have I Been Working On

Posted at 02:13 AM on April 04, 2009

Last Summer at Chain Link my CGOA Mentor introduced me to Bobbie Matela, who now works for Coats & Clark.  I am having a blast doing projects for Coats.  I've had the opportunity to make some beautiful things.  You can make some of my creations for yourself.  The patterns are available for free.

Check out the Roundabout Cardigan.  You can learn a new way to crochet ribbing that looks knit.  And the yarn is the marvelous new Eco-ways.  Make this cardi then let me know if your knitting friends are surprised to findout that your cardi is actually crocheted from yarn that contains 30% recycled polyester made from plastics found in soda and water bottles.

You might also like the Long Tabard made from Red Heart Fiesta.  This one also has the great slip stitch ribbing that looks knit.  Once you get the hang of it, the ribbing is easy and fun.

Hi Kim! It has been a while since I have visited your website [have a few minutes to spare]. I love your slide show projects. Went to C&C website and will try one of their cardigans. Have to go. Later.

Some of my notes didn't make it to the final pattern. There are always space constraints. My notes should answer your questions.

Stitch Patterns:
Sc2tog- insert hook in first stitch then into next chain
space (before and after vertical thread between next 2 clusters).
Slst2tog Ribbing: Working in back loop only, sc in
1st st, * insert hook in same st as last
completed st, yo and draw up a lp, insert hook in next st and draw up a lp, draw last lp directly through 2 lps on hook; rep from * across, sl st in same st as last completed st, ch 1, turn.

Note: After the foundation row, when working into a ch st, always work into the ch-sp, not the st.

Welcome
